Its another long away trip for the boys in Maroon and amber as they bus it to Gloucester this Saturday, for the first match up between these sides since the early days of the original Western Counties league. Those of us old enough to remember those days will recall a very accomplished side arriving at the showground, and Oke being indebted to the legendary boot of full back Martin Cox who kicked seven penalties to secure a 21 all draw!
This current Okes side are unbeaten after last week's difficult victory and will know they will need to play much better to come away with another valuable away win. Matson ran away with W counties North last term and although they have lost all 3 matched this tie around, they have faced hard fixtures and suffered plentiful absentees from last years side. They will be expecting some to return this week, whilst the Okes will have to do without number eight and acting skipper Tom Mcgratton who is unavailable. Hopefully some others missing from last weeks side may return to counteract this loss.
A fans minibus will be laid on and you are most welcome to join us on our latest away-day, your support is really appreciated, KO 3 PM.
Team news will be finalised at training, and the line up will be posted here in the match centre later this evening.
