A mighty challenge lies in wait for the Okes this weekend as they travel to unbeaten league leaders Weston-Super-Mare for the first ever time. The table toppers surprisingly only scraped home by a point at second place Clevedon last Saturday whilst the Okes returned satisfied from North Petherton after a gutsy, hard earned, last minute draw.
Weston currently sit 20pts clear at the top of SW1 whilst the Okes are currently lying in 8th place with 45pts.
Weston ran out impressive 36-13 winners in the reverse fixture at the Showground, a performance which they have admitted was their most complete performance of their season so far.
This will obviously be a tough test for the Oke boys, but one they can get their teeth into knowing they have nothing to lose and are expected to return empty handed. Decent weather and pitch should suit the Okes as the season enters its last third.
The club enjoyed a great Saturday last weekend with the Twos and Thirds/Legends both winning, and nearly seventy seniors running out in the Maroon and Amber ( the Colts didn’t even have a game!)…
Team line ups will be published here in the match centre later today. Whoever’s selected let’s get behind them and cheer the lads on, either by making your way to the Recreation ground for a warm Somerset welcome, or by supporting the Seconds or Colts who are both at home this weekend. All kick offs are at 2.30pm.
“Come On You Okes!”
